Candyland Cake

I started this cake with 2 12" round cakes, 2 10" round cakes and a 6" square cake.then i took some extra cake mix and filled 5 ice cream cones 3/4 full. in order to back them i used a cupcake pan and lined the top with foil and made a small cut in 5 of the holes where the cupcakes would have gone. then i slid the ice cream cones with cake batter inside the slits made. i took the 2 12" cakes and put them on a cake bord with a frosting filling and iced the outsides and placed them in the fridge uncovered for a few hours. i did the same with the 10" cakes and the square one. while there in the fridge i soffened and colored the fondant, rolled out each color for the rainbow road and just took a pizza slicer and cut squars of each color and set them aside. next i rolled out and covered the 12", 10" and square cakes with fondant. I inserted 5, 1/4" dowls for supoorst in the 12" layer and put the 10" layer on top. do the same with the 10" layer. for the lines in the fondant to make the top layer, the kastle, to look like a waffle cone i jus used a clean ruler and made an indent on the fondant before i put it on the cake. After the cake is put together and all three layers have fondant, and the rainbow road is "glued" on with water i got out the peices i made 2 week before. i made them so foar ahead of time so that i knew they would be good and dry. for the molasses swamp i jus made brown fondant and warmed it enough that it was sticky and drouppy in my hands and let the matural meltyness of it form the swamp. the molases pops are jus the same brown fondant on toothpicks and formed into a rectangle shape. the same with the lollie pops jus on toothpicks and made circular. the candie canes are the one thing that isnt edible. baught at a craft store. the leaves i made by rolling little balls of fondant and then jus pressing them flat in my fingers and imprinting them with a tookpick and pinching one end to look like the stem. the castle corners i had to cut a space for the ice cream cones to sit in the fondant because they kept falling out. but i jus frosted the tops and put colored fontant on them to look like icecream. and the blue berries for the blueberry gingerbread tree where jus the right color fondant rolled into balls and a gingerbread man. with gum drops.
