Twin Girls Cake

Twin Girls Cake

The cross has yummy cream cheese icing (that's what they wanted)decorators icing would have been much smoother. The decorations are royal icing (so I could make ahead) The bassinets are constructed from one square cake while the round part is cut from small wonder mold cakes. I used white fondant to ice but I will not do that again as the person I made this for really wanted to freeze the cakes and when she did the cakes were just not the same. The yellow "ruffles" are made from the left over Royal Icing I had and I just piped it directly onto the cake. Much to my surprise it hardened up well.

The actual cakes were Yellow butter and Chocolate pudding both "doctored box cakes". The girls names are printed on the side of each Bassinet.
