Flower Garden Cake

This spring-themed cake is simply a double layered chocolate box mix cake with store bought chocolate frosting. It is sitting on a bed of coconut which I colored with green food coloring.

The fence is made from Vienna Finger cookies which I cut into points and placed around the perimeter of the cake.

I used the extra chocolate cake mix after leveling off the top and crumbled it up to make "dirt" for the garden. I piped green icing around the top with a Wilton grass tip and piped some caterpillars and ladybugs throughout the cake.

The tulips are made from gum drops, which I rolled with a rolling pin and trimmed into shapes with kitchen shears. The tulips were then placed on top of green toothpicks with green gumdrop leaves at the bottom.

The people at my office went wild for this one!!
