Fishing Cake
Easy as pie, this boat cake with fisherman! I used 14 inch cake tin oblong for the bottom cake. Square tin for the boat, any size (you may waste cake on this so make some trifle (the visitors love it). Cut out a dinghy shape, scoop out inside, cut with a sharp knife shape some seats. I got a pic off the net to show me the inside and shape.
Cover the bottom cake with blue butter cream. While you're beating in the blue, stop before it mixes totally to keep a hint of white. I use 3 tablespoons of copha melted in the icing. It sets the way I like it and warm weather doesn't melt anything. Place the dinghy on after you give it a quick icing with white butter icing. I used a paintbrush 1/2 in wide. Dip it in hot water and use in the boat to the get the icing in the corner and flat. Worked a treat. Place figures inside boat. Fondant stays slightly soft. I used gumtrag whilst kneading fondant to stop things from breaking.
Make some:
Oars, bits of fish head, fishing box,
I made some dogs for this one
