Wilton Teddy Bear pan

Wilton Teddy Bear pan

Hello,

I am new at making cakes. I am plannning to make a teddy bear cake (not 3D one) for my son's 2nd birthday. I wanted to make a big sheet cake and have teddy bear on top of it. I have Wilton teddy bear cake pan. Can I just ice sheet cake and put bear cake on top of it and decorate it? Or do I have to use dowels for that support.

If I use dowels do I keep the bear cake on the board while putting it on sheet cake? If so then how do you cut the cake at the time of the party? Doesn't it get musshy under the bear or can we even use the cake part under the teddy bear? Thank you so much for your help!!!

Dowels would provide extra support. When you serve the cake, cut the bear cake first and remove the board beneath it. The dowels will hold the board up and prevent it from smushing up the cake below it.

Answer to character cake layers

You can place the cake right on top of the sheet cake. Not much weight from character cake. It just like making a double layer cake.
