Message Cupcakes

For a friend who ROCKS!

For a friend who ROCKS!

This was an idea that I had to brighten the day of a friend who spent a month at home studying for her final exams. Instead of texting her a positive message of support, I thought I could really put a smile on her face, by dropping off a little message in mini cupcakes!

For your special message cupcakes, use the KISS principal. Keep it sweet & simple! :o)
So I arranged the cupcakes on a plate, and then on a piece of paper wrote out the words on a grid. So I wouldn't miscount the the letters to cupcake ratio. And also work out where to put the picture cupcakes.

These minis are a mix of vanilla, orange & poppyseed and ube. All were frosted with vanilla butter cream. Then its a simple matter of piping single letters on the cakes and using them to spell your message. I know that this is a simple project. But by using favourite colours and objects it becomes so personalised and special.

The flowers and underwear I made with some sugarpaste. For the flowers just roll out your sugar paste to about 2mm, cut with a small flower cutter, and give shape with a ball tool. These ones were super simple. Just cut, press and dry. With a little royal icing I fixed some silver cachous for the middles. The underwear were super simple. Just roll out some coloured sugarpaste, then I used the back end of an icing tip as a leg hole. Basically cut two small circles then with a sharp knife shape the rest of the underwear. Im not explaining this very well, but if you look at the picture, you will see how simple these are. Lastly I dusted them all with some luster dust.

And thats it. They certainly put a smile on my friends face, and gave her a bit of a break from studying! :o)

Hope that you like em!
