Moon and Stars Cake
The moon and stars cake was made with a german chocolate cake with pecan/coconut filling. Decorated with chocolate-coconut frosting, pecans, sprinkles and molded chocolate stars and moons.
The moon and stars are made with chocolate candy melts. You can purchase chocolate molds at stores such as Michaels or online. Melt the candy melts and fill the molds. Place the molds in the freezer for 5 - 10 minutes. When set, invert them on a tray. Trim off any excess chocolate from around your molded decorations and place them on the cake.
