Pink Bridal Shower Cake

Pink Bridal Shower Cake

This cake was made for an office bridal shower for a girl at our office who is getting married this summer. All her wedding colors are in the softest hues of pastel. Petal pink is her favorite color.

The following were used to make this cake:

1.) Cake (mini cake pan)ingredients:

1 (18.25-ounce) package white cake mix
2 large egg whites
2/3 cup white wine
2/3 cup cherry juice
1 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup vegetable shortening
1/3 cup milk
1 pound powdered sugar
1/8 teaspoon red food coloring (optional)

2.) Rolled white fondant to cover cake

3.) Fondant dyed petal pink to make butterflies (use cookie cutters)
Lace (use fondant molds) and bow (bow was hand sculpted)

4.) Edible pearls were used to accent lace

5.) butterflies were brushed with opaque edible glitter for sparkly effect
