Purple & Orange Cake by It's So Cute Cakes
This was such a fun cake to make. It was for my friends wedding. The orange ans purple looked so good together! Loved the bright colors. The bottom is a 10 inch rounch and the top is a 8 inch round. I colored the white fondant with the two colors. Then I used a round cutter in 3 different sizes and cut out and put on cake. YOu just have to put water on the back of the round fondant pieces and put on top of the fondant covered cake. Then I made balls to go around the bottom of the cake and they were made out of fondant also. The top letter was bought because they wanted an M for the last name. It really all came together and everyone loved it! Yay!

The bride designed her own wedding cake and this is what she got. She wanted basic white cake with buttercream frosting. This cake is a 16-12-8-6 4 tier. I used 12 boxes of Duncan Hines white cake mix and homemade buttercream flavored with half vanilla and half butter flavoring.
The bow for the third tier was made a week in advance to allow time to dry. Stripes were cut and applied after frosting had crusted and was smoothed. The same procedure was used for the dotted tier. Once the tiers were put together, I put the bow tails oh the side of the tier and attached the dried bow to it. The balls were all cut circles and then rolled into balls and attached to the tiers. The cake was then put in the refrigerator to set overnight.
The bride and her mom loved it!
