Sea monster cake

Sea monster cake

I'm planning to make the sea monster cake soon, but how do you create the teeth and the features on the face of the creature?

If you want to make scales for the sea monster cake, you can roll out small balls, flatten then and then attach them to the cake. I would overlap them a little bit so they look like real scales. To add more detail to the face, use a pointed tool to etch the details into the fondant.

One way to make the teeth is just to pipe royal icing teeth right where you need them. Use a #6 decorating tip, white royal icing and pipe the teeth thicker towards the bottom and thinner coming up. Just pull the icing up into a point.

You can roll out white gumpaste and cut each tooth individually. I've done several this way and the teeth look so real. You attach them with a little water mixed with meringue powder. Good luck!

Sea Monster teeth

Hi! I made a shark cake this summer and used mini marshmellows cut into points for his teeth. I would suggest using different candy pieces for facial features.
Good luck!!
