Sean Taylor Jersey Cake
I made the sheetcake out of chocolate. The sleeves were cut and seemed on with buttercream icing. The Jersey is a solid sheet of rolled out fondant placed on a thin layer of buttercream icing. I cut the numbers, letters, stripes, collar, and emblems out of fondant. We had an electric outage for two hours so I decided to individualy poke holes in to the Jersey for the textured apperance.I made the cake the day before and the decorating took about 2 hours minus. This time does not include the two hour power outage. I had to mix colors for the burgundy color. After I acheived the correct color, I airbrushed the entire cake burgundy. I the airbrushed the colors on the letters, numbers, etc., according to a true photo of a Sean Taylor Jersey. This was made for a fourtieth birthday party. It was also made with love and rememberance of Sean Taylor as well as well wishes for the family left behind.
