Actually pretty easy, if you can keep the nerds from getting loose and running onto your field :D. I used 2 stacked 9x13's. I've tried both ways- cutting the slanted oval in the top tier before stacking and after stacking. It can be a tad tricky, esp if your cake isn't "strong" or durable. But, it can be done- ewven if the cake cracks a bit the nerds cover a lot. You can ice the field with buttercream or edible image. Gently press nerds into the stands.
