Chocolate Cake

TEXAS CAKE
I used an old recipe that makes the best rich chocolate cake (2 cups sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (8-ounce) container sour cream
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup water
1 cup butter
1/4 cup cocoa
COMBINE first 4 ingredients in a large bowl; stir in sour cream and eggs.
MELT butter in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in 1 cup water and cocoa. Bring to a boil, whisking constantly. Remove from heat. Stir cocoa mixture into flour mixture. Pour into two greased 9" cake pans.
BAKE at 325 for 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.

FUDGE FROSTING
1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup cocoa
1 (1 pound)package powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanella extract

MELT butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in milk and cocoa; bring mixture to a boil. Remove from heat. Gradually add sugar, stirring until smooth; stir in vanilla.

While cake is still warm I spread the frosting over the cake lightly, after the frosting has glazed on cake and the cake it completly cool I applied the rest of the frosting except for one cup, that is to be used to decorate the cake.
I used Hershey's white cookies and cream chocolate candy bars for the sides of the cake. I dipped stemmed
cherries in melted chocolate, using the rest of the chocolate frosting I piped the cake with a #199 tip.
With crushed Hershey's cookies and cream I sprinkled
the top.

This was make for my twin grandsons 14Th birthday. They
did not want writing on the cake. Just cake and make it
