Twilight Birthday Cake
This cake was for my daughters 13th birthday. She is a Twilight fanatic. When she asked for a Twilight cake I really wasn't sure how to accomplish that. So I too a rectangle pan and off I went to create the replica of the book you see here. Chocolate cake iced with butter cream. On top of that I laid on black fondant and created the hands, apple and bookmark out of fondant too. I dusted the apple and hands with a pearlescent dust in colors appropriate for the hands (pink) and the apple (green and brown). The writing on the cake is simply left over white buttercream frosting.
