Vanilla Almond Buttercream

Vanilla Almond Buttercream

1 stick unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
4 c sifted powdered sugar
3-6 Tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla (real vanilla, not vanilla flavored)
1/4 tsp almond extract

With a mixer, whip the butter until fluffy. Slowly add in 1 cup of the powdered sugar when all incorporated, add 3 tbsp of the milk. Add therest of the powdered sugar. If needed, adjust the thickness of the icing with more of the milk.

This recipe frosts one 8-9 inch layer cake. It would do probably about 24 but your mileage may vary. I have never tried piping with this, but I think if you make it thicker, you could pipe soft decorations with it.

I am using your frosting recipie to frost the cupcakes for our wedding. I am curious if you know the yeild for this recipie. Also does this recipie work well for piping? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for posting your wonderful frosting recipie.
