Windmill Cake

This cake was for a Dutch grandma's birthday. The windmill was made out of several 6" round layers stacked together and then sculpted for more of a tapered windmill shape. Then the windmill was stacked on top of a 1/2 sheet designed to look like a grassy field with a brown sugar sand pathway and a blue icing stream. The foamcore windmill blades could actually pivot, with care! There was even a little fat red icing bird sitting on top of the windmill. On the side of the sheet cake was the birthday inscription in English and Dutch!
