Zebra Print Bridal Shower Cupcakes

zebra print bridal shower cupcakesCupcakes flavors were chocolate and vanilla with buttercream frosting. The zebra print was made with edible icing sheets and then cut individually and placed on buttercream icing. The cupcake stand was made with cake boards and cylinder boxes I bought at Micheal's as well as the zebra ribbon.

The bridal theme was Sex and the City.

Hot Pink Zebra Cake

hot pink zebra cakeThis hot pink zebra cake consists of 2 round tiers.

First, the square cake board is covered in pink fondant. The same pink fondant is used on the lower cake tier.

The top tier is covered in a zebra pattern fondant create by cutting out jagged pieces of white fondant, placing them on the black fondant and rolling it out with a rolling pin. The bottom of the upper tier is trimmed with a long strip of black fondant.

Then a pink fondant bow is set on the edge of the lower tier, with long tails draping down the sides of the cake. The fondant has been brushed with shimmer dust to create an iridescent glow.

The 2 pacifiers sitting on top of the cake and on the cake board are store bought, real pacifiers.

The two different types of flowers that are scattered across the cake were cut with gum paste cutters in pink and yellow fondant. They have yellow centers.

The trim along the bottom of the cake is a frilly black and white ribbon.

I used fondant, and shimmer dust to achieve the iridescent look. The flavor is orange cream, with cream cheese frosting.

Hot Pink Zebra Print Birthday Cake

hot pink zebra print birthday cakeI baked 2-10" rounds, 2-8" rounds and 2-6" rounds. Iced and carved the top of the bottom and middle layers on . Then all three tiers were covered in fondant. Then I cut out a section of the top part of the bottom and middle layers to set the cakes into them straight but to achieve the turvy look, doweling the bottom and middle tier then putting one dowel down the center of the entire cake for added stability and then decorated. This was my first attempt at a topsy turvy cake and I think it turned out really well.

Vivid Zebra Cake

vivid zebra cakeThis was one of my first topsy turvy cakes I did. The cake itself was chocolate on the bottom and vanilla on the top layer. Both layers covered in vanilla buttercream icing with Wilton coloring gel added for the color. The zebra stripes and polka dots was black fondant that I just cut out myself. The feathers and accents were bought at a local Craft shop.
