Citric-Almond icing

Citric-almond icing combines fruity and nutty flavors to create a perfect complement to cheesecake. Also delicious on almond and other types of nut cakes.


1 c
butter (softened)
3 T
lemon juice
1 T
orange zest (finely chopped)
1 t
almond extract
5 c
creme fraiche
5 c
confectioners sugar (add more as needed to attain desired consistency)
5 c
brown sugar


  1. Cream butter, lemon juice, almond extract, and creme fraiche.
  2. Stir in confectioner's sugar and brown sugar until of a creamy and spreadable consistency.
  3. Add more confectioner's sugar, half teaspoonful at a time, until it reaches desired consistency.
  4. Keep chilled.
