Dreamsicle Butter Cream Frosting

Dreamsicle Butter Cream Frosting combines both vanilla and orange extract to lend a dreamsicle flavor to an American buttercream icing recipe.


1⁄2 c
softened margarine
6 c
confectioners sugar
1⁄4 c
evaporated milk
2 t
light corn syrup
2 t
Vanilla Extract
3 t
orange extract


  1. In a mixer, put ingredients in order above, mixing on low speed until blended.
  2. Turn off mixer, and scrape sides and bottom of bowl.
  3. Turn mixer back on low and gradually increase speed to high.
  4. Whip frosting for five minutes.
  5. Cover top of mixing bowl with wet towel for 10 minutes before frosting cake or cupcakes so the flavor has time to mellow into butter cream.


Great with vanilla, orange and chocolate cake recipes.
