Almond Lemon Buttercream Icing

Description

Almond lemon buttercream is a perfect match for either almond or lemon cake but also works well with vanilla or chocolate.

Ingredients

1⁄2 c
butter
1⁄3 c
vegetable shortening
1⁄2 t
vanilla
1 lb
confectioners sugar
2 T
Milk
1⁄2 t
lemon rind (finely chopped)

Instructions

  1. Soften about 1/2 a cup of butter.
  2. Add 1/3 cup of vegetable shortening.
  3. Then add 1/2 teaspoon of Vanilla and lemon rind.
  4. Then slowly add the icing sugar.
  5. When the icing gets too thick, add about ten to twenty drops of milk.
  6. Mix as long as possible to make the icing light and fluffy.
  7. Finally, add a few drops of almond extract and mix well.
